Judicious: Meaning, Examples and Quiz

· English Skill Studio · 2 min read

Judicious (adjective) — Judicious means showing good judgement and careful consideration. It often describes a choice, use of resources or decision that seems sensible in the circumstances.

Judicious is different from judicial

A judicious choice balances the relevant needs rather than following an impulse. The adjective is a favourable description, but it does not mean that the decision is perfect in every possible situation.

Judicial concerns judges, courts or the administration of justice. A judicial decision is a court-related decision; calling it judicious is a separate judgement about its wisdom.
